Julian founded Hawksbill Investors in 2022. He has 25 years’ investment experience. He was previously Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager at Intrinsic Value Investors (IVI) LLP, from 2007 until late 2021.
Prior to IVI, Julian was a Director and fund manager at Schroders, where he worked from 1998 to 2007. Whilst at Schroders he was both an analyst responsible for luxury goods, utilities and paper and packaging sectors, and a fund manager. He started managing client money in 2004.
Julian has been rated as a top European analyst/fund manager by various financial publications including Extel and Institutional Investor for several years. He holds an MA (Hons) from the University of Cambridge.
Jason joined Hawksbill Investors at its inception in 2022, as Director of Research. He has 20 years’ investment experience.
Jason was previously a Senior Analyst at Intrinsic Value Investors (IVI) LLP from 2012 to 2021. Between 1996 and 2005 Jason worked for HSBC Investment Bank and then for Credit Suisse as a highly-rated sell-side analyst.
Between 2005 and 2012 Jason took a break from the City to focus instead on his young family, his passion for cabinet-making, and teaching. Jason and Julian have worked together for over ten years and have known each other for over twenty years. Jason holds a BA, MPhil and PhD from the University of Cambridge.
Andy joined Hawksbill Investors at its inception in 2022, as Director of Operations, Risk and Monitoring. Andy has 25 years’ investment experience.
Andy joined Schroders on the graduate recruitment programme in 1998. He was initially a European small cap analyst from 1998 to 2002, before becoming fund manager of the European Small Cap Fund from 2002 until late 2019 when he moved to the Devon coast.
Andy and Julian have worked together for ten years and have known each other for over twenty years. Andy holds an MA (Hons) first-class from the University of Oxford and is also a CFA Charterholder.
